Friday the 14th of July is Bastille day, the national French holiday, which celebrates the beginning of their republican democracy, after the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789. Today is a day of celebration in France. A military parade and fireworks at the Eiffel tower are just some of the festivities Parisians will partake in this weekend.
The holiday is the perfect excuse to grab a croissant on your way to work and indulge in a crepe for dessert in true French style! But these aren’t the only ways you can celebrate a love for all things Parisian, so here are our suggestions on where to celebrate the French national day down under:

If you’re in Queensland over the weekend, why not book into a pastry class at the Golden Pig, where Victor Bedoit from Chouquette Patisserie will teach you how to make profiteroles, sweet pastry, quiche, and other classic French treats.
